Which Home Is For You? Another Senior Scam, Yard Tips, And So Much More!

THE VILLAGES FLORIDA NEWCOMERS 4.1K views 7 hours ago

In this updated blast from the past, Jerry and Linda take you around their Florida yard and share some of the things they learned after making the move south. Moving to Florida means more than sunshine, golf carts, and warm winters — it may also mean learning an entirely new kind of landscaping! Jerry starts with a look at the basic tools you may find yourself using — shovels, pruners, hedge clippers, spreaders, and more — and talks about which ones actually come in handy when taking care of a Florida landscape. Then we head outside to look at some of the plants growing around the house. Which ones are easy to maintain? Which ones require a little more work? And which plants might have you wondering, “Why did we keep THAT?” If you're thinking about moving to Florida, buying a home in The Villages, or you're simply curious about what it takes to maintain a Florida yard, this video may help you know what to expect. Join Jerry and Linda for a fun and informative look at Florida landscaping for newcomers — and a few lessons we've learned along the way! Are homeowners in The Villages finding themselves surrounded by more renters — and could that eventually cause problems? That’s one of the big questions we tackle on this week’s Mailbag Monday with Jerry & Linda. We also talk about love bugs, including what those pesky Florida insects really look like, take a look at golf-course cup changes and those fresh plugs of grass left behind, and discuss real estate commissions and other questions and observations sent in by our viewers. As always, there’s a little information, a little opinion, a few laughs, and plenty of life inside The Villages. Grab a cup of coffee and join us for another Mailbag Monday! Jerry joins his friend Al for a ride in Al’s 2026 Tesla Model Y Performance — and this is definitely not just another quiet electric SUV. With approximately 510 horsepower, 540 lb-ft of torque, 0–60 mph in just 3.3 seconds, 0–100 mph in about 7 seconds, and a top-speed capability of 155 mph, the Model Y Performance has some serious muscle hiding underneath that family-friendly exterior. But raw speed is only part of the story. Al’s Tesla also has the technology, cameras, driver-assistance features, comfort, and everyday usability you expect from a new Hardware 4 Tesla. Thinking about buying a Tesla? Use our referral link when you order and eligible new Tesla owners can currently receive 3 months of Full Self-Driving (Supervised): https://ts.la/gerald903199 We take a look around the car, hit the road, experience that incredible acceleration, and find out what makes the Performance version different from an ordinary Model Y.
